Lichenomima pearmani n. sp.

( Figs 55–66 View FIGURES 55–60 View FIGURES 61–66 )

Diagnosis. Like L. bonaverensis n. sp. and L. chelata , it presents phallosome sledgehammer-shaped. Unlike these, it has external parameres with short apical lobes, endophallus with large sclerotized area and membrane with abundant spicules ( Fig. 60 View FIGURES 55–60 ). Subgenital plate subrectangular, with apical lobe of uniform broad and ‘U’–shaped ( Fig. 59 View FIGURES 55–60 ).

Male. Color. Head ( Fig. 57 View FIGURES 55–60 ) dark Brown, with darker spots on the vertex and postclypeus. Compound eyes black, ocelli hyaline, with ochre centripetal crescents. Coxae dark brown, femur brown, with a fringe white-creamy in the middle portion, tibia white-creamy with brown apex, tarsus 1 white-creamy, tarsi 2 and 3 brown. Forewing ( Fig. 55 View FIGURES 55–60 ) peppered light brown, veins brown, alar margin, subcostal and anal vein punctate, anal cell with dark brown spots, pterostigma with dark brown small dots which extend outside the margin, but retaining its shape, vein m with dark brown spot distally. Hindwings ( Fig. 56 View FIGURES 55–60 ) smoky, veins brown and dotted costal margin. Clunium and hypandrium ( Fig. 59 View FIGURES 55–60 ) dark brown, epiproct and paraprocts little pigmented ( Fig. 58 View FIGURES 55–60 ).

Morphology. As in diagnosis, plus the following: Head ( Fig. 57 View FIGURES 55–60 ): H/MxW: 1.26; compound eyes large, H/D: 1.39; IO/MxW: 0.44. Vertex slightly concave, below level of upper margin of compound eyes. Outer cusp of lacinial tips broad, with five denticles; Mx4/Mx2: 1.31. Forewings ( Fig. 55 View FIGURES 55–60 ): L/W: 2.74. Vertex straight. Pterostigma: lp/wp: 3.23, areola postica high, with vertex touching vein M: al/ah: 1.45. Hindwings ( Fig. 56 View FIGURES 55–60 ): l/w: 2.76. Hypandrium subtriangular,V-shaped, rounded apically with setae as illustrated ( Fig. 59 View FIGURES 55–60 ),with preapical setae and three macrosetae. Phallosome ( Fig. 60 View FIGURES 55–60 ). Paraprocts ( Fig. 58 View FIGURES 55–60 ) with two small tubercles, medial one membranous and covered with setae and the second covered with spicules and short setae, with a curved up lateral projection sclerotized, prong (process) short hook-shaped, strongly curved and external setae on tubercles; sensory fields with 31 trichobothria on basal rosettes. Epiproct ( Fig. 58 View FIGURES 55–60 ) crescent-shaped, with cross-medial sclerotization covered by a row of setae.

Measurements. FW: 3125, HW: 2350, F: 625, T: 1175, t1: 440, t2: 67, t3: 83, ctt1: 19, f1: 700, f2: 625, f3: 567.5, Mx4: 184, IO: 240, d: 360, D: 490, IO/d: 0.67, PO: 0.73

Female. Color. Essentially as in males. Head ( Fig. 63 View FIGURES 61–66 ) clearer than in males, with longitudinal middle spot dark brown, clypeus dark brown. Wings ( Figs 61 and 62 View FIGURES 61–66 ) clearer than in males.

Morphology. As in diagnosis, plus the following: Head ( Fig. 63 View FIGURES 61–66 ). H/MxW: 1.21; Vertex somewhat sinuous, slightly above upper level of compound eyes, these smaller than in males, H/D: 2.32, widely separated, IO/MxW: 0.71. Outer cusp of lacinial tips little wide, with five denticles; Mx4/Mx2: 1.25. Forewings ( Fig. 61 View FIGURES 61–66 ): L/W: 2.56. Pterostigma: lp/wp: 3.02, areola postica almost as tall as wide, apically angled: al/ah: 1.34. Hindwings ( Fig. 62 View FIGURES 61–66 ): l/w: 2.60. Paraprocts subrectangular ( Fig. 64 View FIGURES 61–66 ), with short external margin, distally and apical margin with rows of setae and macrosetae; lateroapical external area with group of abundant setae; sensory fields with 32 trichobothria on basal rosettes. Epiproct ( Fig. 64 View FIGURES 61–66 ) subtriangular, broadly rounded apically and basal margin almost straight, distal field with setae and four macrosetae, apical margin with few setae. Subgenital plate ( Fig. 65 View FIGURES 61–66 ). Gonapophyses typical to family ( Fig. 66 View FIGURES 61–66 ), V1 apically acuminate, with microsetae, V2 distally acuminate, more than twice the length of V1, V3 oval and with setae and macrosetae as illustrated.
