Ortalischema maritima Ozerov, 1985: 1268 View in CoL . Type-locality: "Μαйхэ" ["Mayche", now = Artemovka] ( RUSSIA: Primorskiy Kray); Holotype ♂, in ZISP.
Redescription. Male. Body length 4.5 mm; wing length 3.5 mm.
Head roundish, mostly black; frons dark brown apically; face light brown; facial orbit brownish yellow; gena and occiput shiny and thinly pruinose. Only 1 vti present; or, oc, pvt, vte absent. Setae on vibrissal angle vestigial; genal margin with at least 10 peristomal setae in a row and 1 strong seta at genal angle. Antennal dark brown; first flagellomere pubescent; arista blackish brown except base yellow. Proboscis black with blackish brown setulae; palpus black with black setulae.
Thorax wholly black with thin pruinosity, except greater ampulla and anemiperon anteriorly shining. 2 npl, 1 dc, 1 sa, 1 pa, 1 b sc, 1 sc; pprn absent. Legs mostly black, except mid and hind femora dark brown at base, fore and mid tibiae dark brown at both ends; fore tarsomere 1 white, tarsomere 2 white except apex black, mid tarsomere 1 dark brown. Fore femur with two rows of short spines anteroventrally and posteroventrally; fore tarsomeres 1-3 thickened; mid tarsus with long thick ventral setulae. Setae and setulae on legs black ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 A). Wing hyaline, slightly tinged brown, without dark spot near apex; veins dark brown. Alula white with marginal microtrichiae. Halter pale yellow, black basally.
Abdomen black and shiny. Tergites sparsely clothed with setulae, without striking setae. Epandrium broad in lateral view, covered with setae, marginal setae longer than others; epandrium with a small rounded anterior lobe and a large oval posterior lobe, both lobes with long thick marginal setulae. Surstylus small, with some setae ( Figs. 8 View FIGURE 8 A, 8B).
Female. Body length 4.7 mm; wing length 3.6 mm. Very similar to male, except fore tarsomere 1 black, tarsomere 2 white, tarsomere 3 white with brown apex; mid tarsomere 1 black without long thick ventral setulae ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 B).

Distribution. China, Japan (Hokkaido I.), Mongolia, Russia (Primorskiy Kray, Sakhalinskaya Oblast’). New to China.
Remarks. This species is recorded from China for the first time. Iwasa (1985) described the species with detailed illustrations, but had misidentified it as O. albitarsis . Iwasa (1995) corrected this and added illustrations of both species.
