Orthrius abruptepunctatus Schenkling, 1932
Orthrius abruptepunctatus Schenkling, 1932: 24 .
One paratype is deposited in NMPC (general collection):
PARATYPE (♀): ‘ China. Prov. / Yunnan.Gbg. / b.Mengtze. [p] // Orthrius / abruptepuncta- / tus. Schenklg. n.sp. [hw] // Orthrius abruptepunctatus / = Xenorthrius abrupte- / punctatus (Schenkling, / 1932), comb.n. Revision / 2010 Gerstmeier & Eberle [p]’.
Current status. Xenorthrius abruptepunctatus ( Schenkling, 1932) , see GERSTMEIER & EBERLE (2010).
Remark. GERSTMEIER & EBERLE (2010: 15) did not regard the specimen from NMP as a paratype. Orthrius abruptepunctatus was described from four specimens (two males and two females), the holotype is deposited in the Hauser collection (Zoologisches Museum, Humboldt Universität, Berlin, Germany), while the paratypes should be deposited in Senckenberg, Deutsches Entomologisches Institut, Müncheberg, Germany (SDEI). However, DÖBLER (1982) and GERSTMEIER & EBERLE (2010) mentioned only a single male in SDEI. Therefore, we consider the female specimen from NMP as one of the missing paratypes, which may have come to Prague as a gift or an exchange.
