This species appears to be an erroneous record from New Caledonia. Fauvel (1903) did not consider this species in his New Caledonian faunal synopsis, where he stated that the specimen from Deplanche ( Fauvel 1862) seems to have been collected from Sydney. None of us have collected any specimen from either Grande Terre or the Loyalty Islands.
