Genus Uenoites Belousov & Kabak, 2016: 29 View in CoL
(Type species: Deuveotrechus yinae Uéno, 1996 , by original designation).
A more detailed description and analysis of this extremely heterogenous group is still under preparation and will be the subject of a separate study. For now, we shall limit ourselves to some general remarks. The genus comprises a number of well-defined species groups, each characterized by its own specific set of characters. Most of characters shared by all Uenoites are presumably plesiomorphic for the Kozlovites -lineage supporting the point of view that Uenoites is the base group of the lineage.
Members of the genus are characterized by the following combination of characters: protibiae pubescent on their anterior surface, elytra with Increased numbers of discal setiferous pores located in stria 3 and the preapical pore, ventral sternites IV–VI without transverse row of subequal setae (with two groups of setae in some species groups). All other characters, such as the hind angles of pronotum (simple or prolonged in digitiform processes), the lateral border of pronotum (entire or reduced posteriorly) vary across different species groups and cannot be used to diagnose members of the genus.
