Papuaneon Maddison, 2016 View in CoL View at ENA
Papuaneon Maddison, 2016: 438 View in CoL View Cited Treatment .
Type species. Papuaneon tualapa Maddison, 2016 View in CoL (by monotypy).
Revised Diagnosis. The embolus of Papuaneon View in CoL arises on the dorsal-terminal side of the bulb, which may or may not be partially hidden behind the distal edge of the tegulum. The position is unlike that in Neon View in CoL , whose embolus arises on the prolateral side of the bulb ( Logunov 1998). As the embolus emerges from the terminal end of the bulb, it follows a path that differs between species; sometimes following a twisted path, sometimes a simple curve. The female has a swollen tarsus of the palp, and the spermatheca is divided into a smaller primary receptacle bearing the fertilization ducts, and a much larger bulbous secondary receptacle. The body is larger than usual for Neon View in CoL , more hirsute.
