Ripeacma quadridigitata Wang , sp. nov.
( Figs. 1 View FIGURES 1 − 4 , 5, 6 View FIGURES 5 − 6 )
Type material. Holotype ♂, CHINA: Suiyang (28°15’N, 107°01’E), Guizhou Province, 1500 m, 4.VII.2010, coll. Linlin Yang, genitalia slide No. YAH12341. Paratypes: 1 ♂, 7 ♀♀, same data as holotype except dated 3−4.VII.2010.
Diagnosis. This new species can be distinguished from its congeners by the male gnathos bearing four apical processes. It is close to R. latizona Wang et Li, 2003 superficially, but differs from the latter in the uncus having a pair of small postero-lateral processes; the uncus of R. latizona has a V-shaped distal process at middle on the posterior margin.
Description. Adult ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 − 4 ). Wingspan 18.0−19.0 mm. Head pale yellow, scales grey-tipped on occiput. Labial palpus with second segment yellow on basal 1/3, becoming black on distal 2/3, pointed in male; female with third segment yellow on dorsal surface, black on ventral surface, acute distally. Antenna with scape blackish brown dorsally, pale yellow ventrally; flagellum black dorsally, alternately yellow and blackish brown ventrally. Body black. Forewing with a broad orange yellow fascia running from beyond middle of costal margin to before tornus, broadened anteriorly, its inner margin straight, outer margin somewhat sinuate; costal margin gently arched; termen oblique; apex pointed; cilia concolorous with wings. Legs with femora and tibiae whitish yellow on inner surface, grayish black on both outer surface and distal end; tarsi yellow, with grayish brown spots on outer surface.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 5 − 6 ). Uncus slightly wider basally, nearly parallel-sided from near base to middle, setose, expanded from middle to 3/4, then narrowed to subapex, apex with paired small lateral processes. Gnathos with ventral plate composed of four digitate processes, symmetrical along midline, lateral processes somewhat wider than median processes; lateral arms long and narrow, straight. Valva with margins on basal half nearly parallel, distal half arched ventrally, apex rounded; transtilla slightly expanded distally. Sacculus with basal half wide, distal half gradually narrowed, separate from valva; distal 1/4 with a large triangular ridge, bearing dense spines directed dorsad. Saccus small and short, rounded anteriorly. Juxta broadly U-shaped, lateral lobes slender distally. Aedeagus with basal half thicker than distal half, shorter than sacculus, with a sclerotized, rodlike, apically hooked distal process.
Female genitalia ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 5 − 6 ). Papilla analis large and broad, setose. Apophysis posterioris about 1.5 times length of apophysis anterioris. Eighth sternite shallowly concave at middle on posterior margin; lamella antevaginalis deeply concave in inverted triangle shape at middle on posterior margin, postero-laterally extending outward triangularly, curved ventrad, sclerotized along anterior margin. Antrum short, narrower than ductus bursae. Ductus bursae membranous, about 1.5 times length of corpus bursae, thickened anteriorly. Corpus bursae pyriform, membranous; without signum.
Distribution. China (Guizhou).
Etymology. The specific name is derived from Latin quadridigitatus, referring to the four digitate processes of the gnathos.
