Distribution in Iran. Fars ( Lashkari Bod et al. 2011), Sistan & Baluchestan ( Khajeh et al. 2014), Iran (no locality cited) ( Güçlü and Özbek 2011).

Distribution outside Iran. Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Croatia, former Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, UK, former Yugoslovia ( Yu et al. 2012).

Host records. Aldedonia terrealis, Boiea murana, Chlorissa viridata , Choristoneura murinana , Clepsis pallidana , Ebulea crocealis , Epermenia chaerophylella , Eurodryas aurinia , Gracillaria syringella , Olethreutes arbutella , Pyrausta cingulata , Tebenna bjerkandrella , Tephritis arnica , Udea ferrugalis , Zygaena filipendulae ( Yu et al. 2012) . Also, Shenefelt (1972) recorded this species from Amicta armena , Epermenia chaerophyllella , Euphydryas sibirica , Gracillaria syringella , Pegomya nigritarsis and Udea ferrugalis , and Tobias (1986) reported Argyroploce arbutella .
