Distribution in Iran. Ardabil (Ghahari et al. 2011a).
Distribution outside Iran. Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, former Czechoslovakia, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, UK, Uzbekistan ( Yu et al. 2012), Morocco ( Papp 2007), Tunisia ( Papp 1979).
Host records. This species was bred in England from Pyrausta aurata on Mentha sp. and Nephopterix obductella ( Nixon 1973) . Yu et al. (2012) recorded this species from Avaria hyerana , Cacoecimorpha pronubana , Ethmia terminella , Noeeta pupillata , Nothris verbascella , Olethreutes hercyniana , Orthosia miniosa , Palpita vitrealis , Schiffermuelleria schaefferella and Tebenna bjerkandrella .
