Distribution in Iran. Markazi (Ghahari et al. 2011a as Glyptapanteles portheriae ).
Distribution outside Iran. Algeria ( Shenefelt 1972), Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, China, Croatia, former Czekoslovakia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Italy, Korea, Moldova, Morocco, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, UK, former Yugoslavia ( Yu et al. 2012).
Host records. This species is considered as a gregarious parasite of Lymantria dispar ( Shenefelt 1972; Yu et al. 2012), Phragmatobia fuliginosa , Amphipyra pyramidea , Diloba caeruleocephala , Boarmia gemmaria , Diloba caeruleocephala ( Shenfelt 1972) , Alcis repandata , Dibrachys cavus , Dibrachys microgastri , Eurytoma goidanichi , Eurytoma verticillata , Lymantria obfuscata, Pediobus sp., Phigalia titea , Protapanteles liparidis ( Yu et al. 2012) .
