EOO: 13,047.861 km 2. AOO: 12.000 km 2. IUCN Assessment: Data Deficient
Eriope machrostachya occurs in the Cerrado, campos rupestres, mountain forests and on the margins of riparian forests ( Silva-Luz et al. 2012), in the Central-West, Northeast and Southeast regions of Brazil ( BFG 2015). In the Northeast Region, the species was known only from the states of Bahia View in CoL and Ceará. In RN, it was collected in two areas of the Caatinga, in the municipalities of Campo Redondo and Equador. The population from the municipality of Equador is 73 km from a protected area and is endangered because of mining activities in the region. Due to insufficient data to assess the conservation status, the species was classified as DD.
