EOO: 60,306 km 2. AOO: 12.000 km 2. IUCN Assessment: Vulnerable
Hyptis brevipes is distributed in all regions of Brazil and occurs in almost all phytogeographic domains, except the Caatinga. In the Northeast Region there were records of this species only for the states of Bahia and Paraíba ( BFG 2015). In RN, it was registered for the Atlantic Forest, in restinga and semideciduous forest, and occurs mainly in wet soils. The habitat of H. brevipes is threatened by real estate speculation and the populations of this species do not occur in protected areas. Based on this and its distribution, the species was classified as VU.
