Colony encrusting with nonporous frontal wall and marginal areolar pores. Aperture with condyles and oral spines, sometimes with peristome. Avicularia adventitious, arrang- ed laterally to the aperture and usually paired. Ovicell globular, immersed into the distal part of the autozooecium.
