Chinese name: 平叶ḧ瓢•

Diagnosis. This species is similar to S. applanatus sp. nov. in structures of the male genitalia, but can be distinguished from the later by its more robust penis guide in lateral view and yellow pronotum ( Figs 55a–c, 55f View FIGURE 55 ). In S. applanatus , penis guide is more slender and pronotum is black ( Figs 60a–c, 60f View FIGURE 60 ).

Description. TL: 1.55–2.19 mm, TW: 1.20–1.76 mm, TH: 0.74–0.94 mm.

Body oval, moderately convex, surfaces covered with short pubescence ( Figs 55a–c View FIGURE 55 ). Head yellowish brown with interocular distance distinctly greater than eye width in frontal view. Pronotum yellow. Scutellar shield black. Elytra black with yellowish brown apices. Ventral surfaces yellowish brown to black. Legs yellow. Abdominal postcoxal lines incomplete, recurved toward the base of ventrite ( Fig. 55d View FIGURE 55 ).

Male genitalia: Penis slender, penis capsule with long inner arm but without outer one, apex of penis pointed ( Fig. 55e View FIGURE 55 ). Penis guide long and slender in lateral view, widest at base, gradually narrowing to blunt apex; parameres about 1/4 as long as penis guide, with a tuft of long setae at apex; penis guide approximately parallel sided for basal 1/ 2 in ventral view, then slightly narrowing to blunt apex ( Figs 55f–g View FIGURE 55 ).

Female genitalia: Coxites shortened; styli absent; spermatheca worm-like, with basal ramus and nodulus.

Distribution. China (Hainan, Yunnan, Xizang).

Etymology. The specific epithet parallelus derives from the Latin word “parallelus” and refers to the penis guide which is approximately parallel sided for basal 1/ 2 in both ventral and lateral view.
