Chinese name: ÑỜḧ瓢•

Diagnosis. This is a distinctive species of Chinese Sasajiscymnus by the entire dorsum deeply black with only two small, yellow spots on the elytra ( Fig. 49a View FIGURE 49 ).

Description. TL: 1.35–1.62 mm, TW: 0.99–1.26 mm, TH: 0.52–0.66 mm.

Body oval, moderately convex, surfaces covered with short pubescence ( Figs 49a–c View FIGURE 49 ). Head black with antennae and mouthparts yellow, with interocular distance distinctly closer than eye width in frontal view. Pronotum black with anterior margin narrowly yellowish brown. Scutellar shield black. Elytra black with brown apices, and each elytron with a yellow spot on medially but not touching suture. Ventral surfaces black. Legs yellow to yellowish brown. Abdominal postcoxal lines incomplete, not recurved toward the base of ventrite ( Fig. 49d View FIGURE 49 ).

Male genitalia: Penis slender, penis capsule with long inner arm but without outer one, apex of penis pointed ( Fig. 49e View FIGURE 49 ). Penis guide long and slender in lateral view, approximately parallel sided for basal 3/4, then gradually narrowing to pointed apex; parameres about 1/3 as long as penis guide, with a tuft of long setae at apex; penis guide widest at base in ventral view, tapering towards blunt apex ( Figs 49f–g View FIGURE 49 ).

Female genitalia: Coxites shortened; styli absent; spermatheca worm-like, with basal ramus and nodulus.

Type material. Holotype: China: Yunnan: ♂, Yexianggu, Xishuangbanna National Nature Reserve , 780 m, 23.IV.2019, Deng LC leg ( SCAU) . Paratypes ( SCAU): China: Yunnan: 1♂ 1♀, Mengyang Town, Jinghong City , 27.IV.2008, Wang XM leg ; 1♂ 4♀, Dadugang Town, Jinghong City , 1050 m, 5. V.2009, Wang XM leg; 3♀, Yaoqv Town , Mengla County, 700 m, 7–8. V.2009, Wang XM leg.

Distribution. China (Yunnan).

Etymology. The specific epithet flavostictus derives from the Latin words “flavus” (= yellow) and “stictus” (= spot), refers to its two yellow spots on the elytra.
