Chinese name: Ľ叶ḧ瓢•

Diagnosis. This species is similar to S. sylvaticus ( Lewis, 1896) , but can be distinguished from the later by yellow pronotum, black scutellar shield, and parameres about 1/3 as long as penis guide ( Figs 7a–c, 7g View FIGURE 7 ). In S. sylvaticus , pronotum is yellowish brown, scutellar shield is dark brown, and parameres are about 3/4 as long as penis guide ( Figs 8a–c, 8g View FIGURE 8 ).

Description. TL: 1.54–2.05 mm, TW: 1.21–1.54 mm, TH: 0.77–0.91 mm.

Body oval, moderately convex, surfaces covered with short pubescence ( Figs 7a–c View FIGURE 7 ). Head yellow with interocular distance distinctly greater than eye width in frontal view. Pronotum yellow. Scutellar shield black. Elytra black with yellow apices. Ventral surfaces yellow to black. Legs yellow. Abdominal postcoxal lines incomplete, recurved toward the base of ventrite (Fig. 7d).

Male genitalia: Penis long and slender, penis capsule with short outer arm and curved inner one, apex of penis pointed ( Figs 7e–f View FIGURE 7 ). Penis guide triangular in lateral view with pointed apex; parameres about 1/3 as long as penis guide, with a tuft of long setae at apex; penis guide widest at base in ventral view, tapering towards pointed apex ( Figs 7g –h View FIGURE 7 ).

Female genitalia: Coxites distinctly elongate, triangular; styli strongly reduced and hardly visible; spermatheca distinctly curved, with basal ramus and nodulus.

Paratypes ( SCAU): China: Guangxi: 5♂ 3♀, Shili Canyon, Mao’ershan National Nature Reserve , 19.X.2004, Wang XM leg ; 1♂, Pinglong Mountains, Shiwandashan National Nature Reserve , 8.XI.2004, Wang XM leg. Hunan: 1♂, Mangshan National Nature Reserve , 3.X.2004, Ren SX leg. Guangdong: 2♂, Nankunshan National Forest Park, 21.X.2004, Wang XM leg ; 1♂, Qinshuigu, Nanling National Nature Reserve , 21.IX.2005, Wang XM leg.

Distribution. China (Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi).

Etymology. The specific epithet cultratus derives from the Latin word “cultratus” and refers to the cultrated penis guide.
