Scymnus (Scymnus) nakanei Araki, 1963: 253 (type locality: Ohdaigahara Mountains , Japan).

Diagnosis. This species is similar to S. subulatus sp. nov., but can be distinguished from the later by parameres not dilated in lateral view (Fig. 12f). In S. subulatus , parameres are distinctly dilated ( Fig. 10f View FIGURE 10 ).

Description. TL: 1.83–2.57 mm, TW: 1.38–1.89 mm, TH: 0.71–1.03 mm.

Body oval, moderately convex, surfaces covered with short pubescence (Figs 12a–c). Head black with antennae and mouthparts brown, interocular distance distinctly greater than eye width in frontal view. Pronotum and scutellar shield black. Elytra black with brown apices. Ventral surfaces brown to black. Legs brown. Abdominal postcoxal lines incomplete, recurved toward the base of ventrite (Fig. 12d).

Male genitalia: Penis long and slender, penis capsule with short outer arm and long inner one, apex of penis pointed (Fig. 12e). Penis guide triangular in lateral view with pointed apex; parameres about 3/4 as long as penis guide, densely covered with long setae at apex; penis guide widest at base in ventral view, tapering towards pointed apex (Fig. 12f–g).

Female genitalia: Coxites distinctly elongate, triangular; styli strongly reduced and hardly visible; spermatheca distinctly curved, with basal ramus and nodulus.

Material examined. China: Hubei: 5♂ 5♀, Lulin Town , Jingshan County, 169 m, 10.VII.2007, Wang XM leg ; 2♂, Xingshan County, 16.VII.2007, Wang XM leg. Chongqing: 1♂ 1♀, Wuxi County, 2.VII.1989, Ren SX leg. Guizhou: 4♂ 4♀, Huaxi District, Guiyang City , 17–18.VIII.1987, Pang XF leg.

Distribution. China (Shandong, Hubei, Chongqing, Guizhou, Shaanxi); Japan; South Korea.
