Remarks. Since the only two female specimens of this species have been recorded from Sulawesi I. by van der Vecht (1962) as “ R. variegata jacobsoni … Celebes: 2 Females, South Celebes, Dec. 1936, Indonesian collector (ML [= currently Naturalis (formerly Rijksmuseum van Natuurlijke Historie), Leiden])”, the present species has never been recorded and we have searched in vain specimens of this species from Sulawesi I. in the collection of MZB and IUNH. It may need further intensive field research to clarify whether R. jacobsoni had previously occurred or currently occurs in Sulawesi I.
Distribution records: Indonesian Archipelago: Bangka I., Sumatra I., Java I., Sulawesi I.; Indian subcontinent; Indochina Peninsular (van der Vecht, 1962; Kojima et al., 2007).
