Vernacular Names: Buller's Chipmunk.
Distribution: Sierra Madre, in S Durango, W Zacatecas, and N Jalisco ( Mexico).
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Subgenus Neotamias . Formerly included durangae and solivagus , which were considered incertae sedis by Callahan (1980); see durangae . Reviewed by Bartig et al. (1993, Mammalian Species No. 438).
