Body containing endophallic sclerite with spiniform apex. Apodeme with tip broken, ca. 2.0 X as long as body of penis. Intraspecific variation. Length. Pronotum plus elytron 7.50–10.10 mm.

Material examined. Type specimens. Male, lectotype by present designation: INDONESIA:“ Java ”, Fruhstorfer ; labels ( Fig. 39c View FIGURE 39 ); condition: right part of right antenna missing; right protarsus missing; formerly pinned through right elytron; genitalia in glycerol in microtube; DNA extraction ARC5047 View Materials (sequencing failed) ( SMTD) . Paralectotypes: 1 ex, Java orient, Montes Tengger , 4000, 1890, H. Fruhstorfer; 2 exx, same data as lectotype ( SMTD). Other material examined: INDONESIA, 5 exx, Java ( SMTD); E-Java: 1 ex, ARC3555 View Materials (GenBank # LN866372) , Meru Betiri N.P., Sukamade, S08° 32.221´E113° 51.985´to S08° 32.246´E113° 51.603´, 100–350 m, 12-13-IV-2011 ( SMNK); 4 exx, Bremi, Gn. Argopuro, 900–1900 m, 16-VII-2003 ( ARC) GoogleMaps .

Notes. Faust (1896) based the original description on an unknown number of specimens; he did not designate a holotype. Four specimens fitting his description were found at SMTD. The original description cites the locality “Montes Tengger” of East Java. One paralectotype bears a printed label with this locality; the other specimens have hand-written labels stating “ Java ”. A lectotype is designated to ensure stability of nomenclature .
