Two specimens of this species were examined by Gorham (1884). We were only able to locate one male specimen bearing the red “type” label. Since we did not locate the other specimen, the specimen with the red “type” label is designated as the lectotype. Labels for the designated lectotype specimen are as follows: “ ♂ ” “Type” “V. de Chiriqui,/ 25-4000 ft. /Champion.” “B.C.A.Col.III.(2)./ Lucidota View in CoL /fenestrata,/Gorham ♂ ” “ Lucidota View in CoL /

fenestrata/Gorham.”. A red label is added with the following text: “ LECTOTYPE / Lucidota fenestrata Gorham / Designated by/Martin and Saxton 2020”.
