( Figs. 4G View FIGURE 4 , syntype puparium in MZU; 4H, syntype USNM; 4I, drawing Bondar 1923)
Aleurotrachelus cecropiae Bondar, 1923: 143 View in CoL . Syntypes. Brazil: Bahia, G. Bondar, on Cecropia adenops ; type specimens reported to be deposited in MZU, NHM, USNM.
Aleuropleurocelus cecropiae (Bondar) View in CoL ; Martin (2005: 20).
Distribution: Neotropical: Brazil.
Host: Moraceae : Cecropia adenopus , Cecropia sp.
New Record: Brazil, G. Bondar on Cecropia sp. , 1 slide with 7 puparia in USNM.
Comment: The USNM has one slide of this species with 7 puparia that is marked as a cotype. The area surrounding the vasiform orifice is very dark and sclerotized and difficult to observe in the USNM specimens. However, one individual is lighter and shows the vasiform orifice is set on top of a large, volcano-like protuberance, which we have not observed in other whitefly species. Carapia-Ruiz (2020b) reported and provided a photograph of this species found on Curatella americana and Psidium guajava in Mexico.
