Isolectotype (designated by Kowalski 1975):— SWITZERLAND. Vallon de Noirvaux, near Sainte Croix, Canton Vaud, on fallen fir twigs, July 1924, Ch. Meylan, box B.M. 4005 [ BM001247519 !], + corresponding slide, s.n. [ BM001247532 !] .

The sample B.M. 4005 is a duplicate of the lectotype proposed by Kowalski (1975) who in his study of the genus Wilczekia Meyl. (Meylan 1925) characterized it mainly by its small sporangia 0.5 mm high and the peridium covered with amorphous calcareous crystals. However, Kowalski (1975) did not find crystals but minute granules that brought it closer to the species of the genus Diderma Pers. and recombined it in the latter genus. He indicated that it is similar to Diderma brooksii Kowalski , but the latter has a double peridium and larger sporangia, 1–1.5 mm in diam.
