5. Genus Mymilla Wesmael 1851
Type species: Mutilla distincta Lepeletier 1845 (female), by subsequent designation of Ashmead 1903: 324 (junior subjective synonym of Mutilla calva Villers 1789 (female).
Forty-six Myrmilla species occur in the Palaearctic region, mainly in the Mediterranean, but only a few penetrate to the Afrotropical and Oriental regions ( Lelej 2007). Ten species of this genus are distributed in Turkey. One of them is recorded from this country for the first time.
