Basionym:— Polygonum persicariiforme Alexandrova (in Alexandrova & al. 1962: 496) (“ persicariformis ”). Type:— RUSSIAN FEDERATION. Tomsk region, Bogashevo village ([unnumbered preparation], n.v., Siberian Institute of Geology,
Geophysics and Mineral Resources, Novosibirsk, Russian Federation, figured by Alexandrova in Alexandrova & al. 1962: pl. 108,
fig. 4).
Stratigraphy:— Oligocene.
Status:— Sporae dispersae (pollen).

Note:— Polygonum persicariiforme Alexandrova (in Alexandrova et al. 1962: 496) was described on the basis of dispersed pollen from the Oligocene sediments of Western Siberia (Bogashevo village, Tomsk region, Russian Federation). This fossil-species is excluded from extant genus Polygonum and transferred into the specialized fossil pollen genus Persicarioipollis Krutzsch (1962: 282) , serving a formal repository of fossil pollen taxa related to extant genus Persicaria .
