Basionym:— Polygonum trigonophyllum Guo & Li (1982: 302) .
Type:— CHINA. Zhejiang Province, Ninghai County, Xiananshan (holotype PB 7692, Nanjing Institute of Geology and Palaeontology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Nanjing, China, figured by Guo & Li, 1982: pl. 141, fig. 8).
Stratigraphy:— Upper Miocene (Xiananshan Formation).
Status:— Leaves.

Note:— The distinctive fossil foliage found in the Upper Miocene sediments of Xiananshan, Zhejiang Province of China and named as Polygonum trigonophyllum Guo & Li (1982: 302) , is clearly related to Reynoutria - type, and hence a new combination is proposed for the fossil taxon.
