Sinocyrtaspis brachycercus Chang, Bian & Shi View in CoL , sp. nov.

( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 )

Male. Body stout. Head short, frontis verticis slightly inclined. Fastigium verticis conical, apex obtusely rounded, with a thin longitudinal sulcus. Eyes oval. Apical segment of maxillary palpus slightly longer than subapical one, apex slightly enlarged.

Pronotum ( Figs 2 View FIGURE 2 A, B) conspicuously protruding backwards, anterior and middle transverse sulci indistinct, posterior transverse sulcus distinct, metazona indistinct raised, posterior margin obtusely rounded; posterior margin of paranota enlarged, humeral sinus absent.

Procoxa with 1 spine, tibial tympana open on both sides, oval. Mesotibiae with 4 spines on interno-ventral margin and 4–5 spines on externo-ventral margin, apex with a pair of ventral apical spurs. Apices of genicular lobes of postfemora obtuse, posttibiae with 18–22 spines on inner and outer sides of dorsal margin separately, apices with a pair of dorsal apical spurs and two pairs of ventral apical spurs.

Tegmina short, completely covered by pronotum, apices not reaching posterior margin of pronotum; hind wings absent.

Tenth abdominal tergite ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 C) distinctly protruding, basal area broader, middle area constricted, lateral margins of apical half slightly enlarged outwards, posterior margin with a quadrate incision, apices of the lateral margins obtusely rounded ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 C). Concealed genitalia elongate, sclerotized, apex slightly widened, trapezoid, mounted on the notch of posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite. Cerci ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 D) short, not reaching apex of tenth abdominal tergite, invisible in dorsal view, conical, basal area stout, apices obtusely rounded, subapical area with a short tooth. Subgenital plate ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 E) elongate, basal area feebly broad with an apical triangular notch; apex comparatively narrow, posterior margin concave; styli very minute, apical area of each side of subgenital plate, conical.

Coloration. Body lightly yellowish green, probably green when alive. Eyes yellowish brown. Pronotum with a pair of longitudinal brown stripes on disc. Abdominal tergites with a longitudinal brown stripe, reaching posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite. Tibial spines and spurs with apices brown; apices of claws brown.

Female. Unknown.

Type material. Holotype: 3, Tianmushan, Linan, Zhejiang, China, 1 August, 2011, collected by Li-Ying Guo.

Measurements (mm). Body (from apex of fastigium verticis to posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite): 3 10.3; pronotum: 3 6.7; postfemora: 3 8.3.

Discussion. The new species differs from the other species of Sinocyrtaspis in following characters: pronotum with a pair of longitudinal brown stripes; posterior margin of male tenth abdominal tergite with a quadrate notch; male cerci short and stout, apices rounded.
