Genus Cylapus Say View in CoL
Type species: Cylapus tenuicornis Say, 1832:26 . Monotypic. Cylapus : Carvalho & Fontes 1968:264 (diagnosis, discussion, list of species); Trichocylapus : Carvalho & Fontes 1968:282.
Diagnosis. Body elongate, punctate, with short, erect or semi-erect pilosity. Head with vertex grooved in the middle, eyes pedunculated, labium reaching posterior coxae or beyond; antennal segment I about the width of the head, including the eyes, and twice as long as the width of the vertex. Tibiae with short hairs or spines less than the length of the segment ( Carvalho & Fontes 1968).
