Diagnosis (after Faubel 1983): Idioplanidae with tentacles; tentacular, cerebral and marginal eye-spots present. Male copulatory apparatus with seminal vesicle and papillate unarmed penis; vasa deferentia immediately unite before entering the seminal vesicle. Female apparatus extending dorsally along the male complex from an anterior position of the male apparatus. Lang’s vesicle anchor-shaped.
Type species: Idioplana australiensis Woodworth, 1898 .
