Leucanthemum laciniatum Huter et al. (1878 View in CoL : n. 617)
Type (lectotype, designated here):— ITALY. Calabria III. in Mte Dirupata di Morano, et in mte Mula pr. S Donato (Sosti) loc. rupestrib. gramin. sol. calc. 9–1900 m. 11 June and 26 July 1877, Huter, Porta, Rigo, ex itinere italico III N ° 617 ( FI barcode FI 001778 [digital image!, available at http://parlatore.msn.unifi.it/types], individual on the left).
Nomenclatural notes:—Duplicates of the collection 617 of the authors’ “ Iter Italicum III ” (i.e., syntypes) were traced at FI. Among them, we select here as lectotype a well-preserved specimen conserved at FI, which matches the current application of the name (e.g., Pignatti 1982c, Conti et al. 2005, Peruzzi et al. 2014, 2015b, Bartolucci et al. 2018c). The other specimens from the same collection were collected at more than one time, so that they belong to more than one gathering and cannot be accepted as isolectotypes (Art. 8.2 [footnote 1] and Art. 8 Ex. 3 of the ICN).
Melampyrum barbatum var. variegatum Porta & Rigo (1874 – 1876: without number)
≡ Melampyrum variegatum (Porta & Rigo) Huter (1907b: 246) View in CoL

Nomenclatural notes:—This variety was so far believed to have been published (as a species) in 1907 ( Huter 1907b: 246). We were able to find just one gathering (without number) of the authors’ “ Iter Italicum I ” (i.e., syntype) at FI, which is selected here as lectotype. The lectotype fits with the current application of the name (e.g., Pignatti 1982 b, Conti et al. 2005, Peruzzi et al. 2014, 2015b, Bartolucci et al. 2018c).
