Geographical distribution: Brazil (ES) to Uruguay —B/A.

Remarks: Specimens of this species from Brazil have been identified as T. ventricosa (Gray, 1838) (e.g., Rios 1994, 2009; Narchi & Dario 2002; Denadai et al. 2006), currently considered a synonym of T. zonaria (MolluscaBase 2023) .
