Bathymetric distribution: 0 m—SW.

Geographical distribution: Brazil (SP to RS) and Uruguay —B/A.

Remarks: As pointed out by Scarabino et al. (2016), Huber (2010a) considered Petricolaria serrata (Deshayes, 1853) a senior synonym of this species. We follow Scarabino et al. (2016) in retaining P. stellae , waiting for a more detailed study to solve this issue.
