Geographical distribution: USA (North Carolina to Florida ), Colombia, and Brazil (RN, RJ)—WGD.

Remarks: This species was refereed from Brazil (e.g., Dall 1902b; Haas 1953; Huber 2010a), but was listed as a synonym of C. cancellata by Rios (1994, 2009) and CTFB (2024).
