Bathymetric distribution: 5–55 m —SW.

Geographical distribution: USA ( Florida Keys ) to Brazil (RJ to SC)—C/B.

Remarks: This species has been referred from Brazil as Chione pubera (Bory Saint–Vincent, 1827) (e.g., Fisher– Piette & Testud 1967b; Rios 1994, 2009; Denadai et al. 2006), a species considered as a synonym of Chionopsis crenata .
