Geographical distribution: USA (North Carolina) to Brazil (RN to SC; FN and Abrolhos)—WGD.

Remarks: This species has been frequently referred from Brazil as Rupellaria typica (Jonas, 1844) (e.g., Rios 1970, 1975, 1985, 1994, 2009; Narchi 1974b).
