Geographical distribution: Venezuela to Argentina —WGD.

Remarks: This species was already referred as Mytella falcata (Orbigny, 1846) (e.g., Klappenbach 1965; Rios 1970) or M. charruana (d'Orbigny 1846) (e.g., Rios 1975, 1985, 1994, 2009; Narchi & Galvão–Bueno 1983), but Lim et al. (2018) argued for M. strigata having priority over these species.
