Geographical distribution: USA (North Carolina) to Brazil (to ES, SC; FN, Atol das Rocas)—WGD.

Remarks: This species is currently considered a synonym of B. dominguensis (Lamarck, 1819) (MolluscaBase 2023; CTFB 2024), but here they are treated as distinct, following Simone & Chichvarkhin (2004).
