Bathymetric distribution: 0–128 m —SW.
Geographical distribution: USA (South Carolina) to Argentina (Golfo San Matias)—WGD.
Remarks: Pododesmus leloiri Carcelles, 1941 is treated as a distinct species from P. rudis in the older catalogs of Rios (1970, 1975, 1985, 1994) and in the CTFB (2024); currently, the former is considered a synonym of the latter (MolluscaBase 2023), as it is cited by Rios (2009).
