Bathymetric distribution: 20–120 m —SW.
Geographical distribution: Brazil (RJ) to Argentina (Golfo San Matias)—B/A.
Remarks: Rios (1975, 1985, 1994, 2009) recorded Tellina iheringi Dall, 1900 as a synonym of A. petitiana , but following Boss (1966) and Tenório (1984) T. iheringi is here considered a valid species.
