Bathymetric distribution: 7–60 m —SW.
Geographical distribution: USA (Florida) to Brazil (CE, AL; Abrolhos)—C/B.
Remarks: C. coarctata is currently considered as a synonym of C. lamellosa G. B. Sowerby I, 1833 (MolluscaBase 2023), a species known from the Pacific coast of Baja California to Peru (Coan & Valentich–Scott 2012). Here, these are treated as distinct, pending on future investigations.
