Geographical distribution: USA (Florida), West Indies to Brazil (CE, MA, SE, BA, SP, PR, RS); Pacific and Indian Oceans—WGD.
Remarks: Bankia destructa Clench & R. D. Turner, 1946 was referred from Brazil ( Rios 1994, 2009; CTFB 2024), but Müller & Lana (2004) pointed out that these records are in fact of B. fimbriatula .
