Bathymetric distribution: 0–37 m —SW.

Geographical distribution: USA (Florida), Brazil (MA, BA, ES, RJ, SP, PR, SC)—C/B.

Remarks: Lyrodus pedicellatus (Quatrefages, 1849) was recorded from Brazil ( Morretes 1949; Rios 1994, 2009; CTFB 2024), but Müller & Lana (2004) restricted the distribution of this species to the Pacific Ocean, and that those records from Brazil are of L. floridanus .
