Bathymetric distribution: 400 m —DW.

Geographical distribution: Brazil (PR), Uruguay.

Remarks: This species was originally described as C. (C.) birmani Domaneschi & Lopes, 1990 , and later recorded by Rios (2009) as " C. troncosoi " (an invalid name). Krylova & Sahling (2006) excluded C. birmani from the genus Calyptogena and Huber (2010a) considered this species as a synonym of V. venusta (Dall, 1886) .
