Family Pinnidae Leach, 1819 (1 species)

Remarks: Simone et al. (2015) argued that Pinna carnea Gmelin, 1791 should be removed from the checklists of bivalve species from Brazil and suggested that there is "a separate and potentially unnamed species in Brazil " which has been traditionally called P. carnea .
