Localities and material. 57 specimens. Province of CastelloÂn : 13M, 14 I. Lc: 4. Province of Valencia: 17M, 13 I. Lc: 4 .

Characters. Length 60±101 mm (av. 75, SD 13.6). Diameter: maximum 3.5±4.8 mm (av. 4.1, SD 0.4), postclitellar 2.5±4 mm (av. 3.11, SD 0.5). Number of segments 109±151 (av. 138, SD 12.4). Weight 0.37±0.98 g (av. 0.51, SD 0.19). First dorsal pore in 9/10 (55%), 10/11 (36%), 11/12 (9%). Perithecal papillae in ix±xi (100%). Porophores in half xiv±half xvi (100%). Clitellar anterior papillae in xxvi (9%), xxvii (9%) or xxviii (9%). Clitellar posterior papillae in xxx and xxxii (55%) or xxx, xxxii and xxxiii (45%). Clitellum from xxviii (55%) or 1/ n xxviii (45%) to xxxiv (73%) or 1/ n xxxv (27%). Tubercula pubertatis of bipartite origin in xxxi± xxxiii with concavity and furrow in xxxii (100%). Typhlosole not pennate (®gure 4c), anterior end in xxi, posterior end in xcii±ci (av. 97.6, SD 3.8). Atyphlosolate segments: 35±59 (av. 43.5, SD 8.2).

This species diOEers from N. trapezoides mainly in the origin of the tubercula pubertatis, the pigmentation and the production of sperm. There are also signi®cant diOEerences in length (p <0.002), weight (p <0.002) and end of the typhlosole (p <0.01).
