The holotype is deposited in NMPC (ex coll. V. Balthasar):

HOLOTYPE (J): ‘ Manow / D. O. Afr. [p] // O. pseudofi- / metarius n.sp. [hw] / Dr. V. Balthasar det. [p] // Typus [p, red label] // Onthophagus / pseudofimetarius [hw, pink label]’.

Current status. Valid species; not assigned to any subgenus.

Remark. BALTHASAR (1946a) reported the type specimen as a female, nevertheless the dissection proved it was a male.
