Two syntypes are deposited in NMPC (ex coll. Nickerl):

SYNTYPES (2 unsexed specimens): ‘Grusia / Kolenati [hw, yellow label] // O. trochiscobius / Kolenati typ! [hw]’.

Current status. Junior subjective synonym of Onthophagus (Palaeonthophagus) suturellus Brullé, 1832 , see, e.g., BARAUD (1992).
