Malletia magellanica Mabille & Rochebrune – Dall (1908: 219, 383); error for M. patagonica Mabille & Rochebrune.

Remarks: This is a strange error by Dall. He listed this as an included species on page 219 as well as in the systematic treatment on page 383. He placed Malletia hyadesi Mabille & Rochebrune in synonymy stating “I have no doubt of their identity.” Dall cited the original figure references for both M. hyadesi and M. patagonica and further stated that “ M. magellanica Smith , is much more acutely pointed behind.” Malletia magellanica E.A. Smith, 1881 was the first species included in Malletia by Rochebrune & Mabille, but it was not figured.
