Diagnostic characters. Stems clustered, unarmed, erect, ca 1 m long and 0.8–1.1 cm in diameter. Leaf pinnate, al- ternate, 50–70 cm long; ligule fibrous, 7–9 cm long; pet- iole ca 35 cm. Leaflets regular, oblong, 3 or 4 per side, 20–30 cm long, ca 5 cm wide, serrated, abaxially silverywhite, terminal leaflets bilobed. Inflorescence terminal, ca 20 cm long, branched or unbranched; bracts 5–7 cm long, brown; rachilla 7–12 cm long. Fruits ovate to ellip- soid, light green to white, 1.5–2.2 cm long.

Flowering and fruiting. August and September to February, respectively.

Distribution. Kamrup Rural, West Karbi Anglong, and Tinsukia districts; prefers moist area.
