Diagnostic characters. Stems solitary, 10 m long; stems with leaf sheath 2 cm in diameter; spines linear, triangu- lar 0.3–1 cm long. Knee 3 cm long, green, armed by ca 2 mm long spines; ocrea ca 5–6 mm long, spiny. Leaf 1 m long, ecirriate; petiole with single or paired spines ca 1 cm; leaflets regular, 8–13 per side, alternate, lanceo- late to ensiform, 30 cm long, acuminate, terminally free, veins 7 in numbers, vestigial cirri ca 2 mm. Flagella 2.5 m long, grapnel spines ca 6 mm long.

Distribution. Dima Hasao district; in dense forest.

Uses. Domestic uses (cane).
